  • Heads Up: Landside Charges Increasing in the New Year

As we head into the New Year, we want to provide our customers with early notice of upcoming increases to landside-related charges across Australian ports.

Over recent months, industry bodies including Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have circulated formal notifications from major stevedores, container terminals, and empty container parks nationwide. These notices confirm that multiple increases will take effect from early 2026, impacting terminals across Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Fremantle.

What does this mean for importers and exporters?

These landside and ancillary charges are outside the direct control of freight forwarders and are applied consistently across the industry. As such, increases imposed by terminals, container parks, and stevedores are typically passed through the supply chain.

While we always work hard to absorb costs where possible, the scale and breadth of these industry-wide increases mean some adjustments will be unavoidable.

Our commitment to you

At Transitainer WA, transparency is important to us. Our goal is to ensure clients are informed early, so there are no surprises when these changes come into effect.

We are:

  • Actively reviewing all notifications as they are released
  • Continuing to engage with industry bodies and service providers
  • Monitoring how these increases may impact shipments and overall supply chain costs

We will provide further updates where relevant and are always happy to discuss how these changes may affect your individual movements.

If you have any questions or would like to talk through upcoming shipments, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Transitainer WA team.

Thank you, as always, for your continued trust and partnership.
